BASKOIR FILMS - by Julia Basques
Julia Basques is a passionate filmmaker, and film student at the New York Film Academy. Born and raised in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Julia has always been in love with film and all forms of art.
With an eye for light and an interest in darkness, there is always an intriguing tone of contrast in her work.
"I want to show my perspective, share my voice, and use all my skills to be a true storyteller." -J.
BASKOIR was created as a combination of my name, Basques, and the contrast of light/dark that I love so much and always try to bring to my work. While BASK means to lie enjoying warmth, specifically from the sun, NOIR, from the French language, means black, or dark, as it is used to describe numerous films and film styles.
